Baby Burrito

OK, so I know it’s technically called swaddling, but ever since Wyatt was an infant we have called swaddling the baby burrito. Like at night when Chris would put Wyatt to bed, I would ask, ” Did you put him in a burrito?” Well, the phrase stuck with us for Brooklyn. Now, they have baby burritos with Velcro that keeps the baby wrapped up very tight for sleeping. No more wondering if they are going to kick their way out of the blanket burrito. Once you wrap them, they are stuck.
This may sound cruel, but let me tell you, Brooklyn has been sleeping for 5-9 hours at night since she was 6 weeks old. And I credit the burrito. I think they like being all warm and cozy in there – like being back in the womb. It will be a sad, sad day when she outgrows her burrito and I feel this day approaching fast. She’s a good eater, and not a petite baby by any means. Her little feet are nearing the end of the burrito wrap.
These particular wraps my friend Laci gave to me after her triplets outgrew them – probably the best thing we’ve been given so far. She got the wraps in the NICU where her babies were born but I have seen similar wraps at Target and Wally world. If she wasn’t rapidly outgrowing them I would search for this particular brand online and order a few more. Then I would keep her wrapped up until she was 18.
