Brooklyn Gets Baptized
May 18, 2009 by Lisa Beth
Yesterday morning we had Brooklyn’s baptism! It was rescheduled twice now (curse you, Fargo flood waters!) and a bunch of our family was out for the special day. Both sets of grandparents made it, and uncle Eric. Unfortunately, Leah, Maddy and Conner weren’t able to come due to the twins being sick, so they stayed in Fargo. So Brooklyn only had one of her godparents/sponsers at the baptism (uncle Eric), but that’s OK. As a mom of my own three year old – I totally get how crummy it is when kids are sick. I can’t imagine having two sick three year olds to take care of. So, we missed you guys, auntie Leah! Hope you are feeling better!
I had visions of Wyatt running wild through the church during the baptism (we’ve had this experience before), but he did pretty good. He came up with us for a minute, then ran back to sit with Grandpa who was taking pictures for us. Looking back at the pics I took, I wish I would’ve gotten some more. I am ususally so good about snapping one million shots for every occasion, but with everything going on, the day kinda got away from me. I especially wish I would’ve got a better picture of Brooky’s outfit. The outfit she wore is actually almost 30 years old. It was the outfit my mom bought for me when I was going to be baptized, but then my grandma ended up making me an outfit so I wore that instead. It’s a really cute white, knit number. Perfect for the occasion! And, of course, she looked adorable. I think I’ll put her back in in tomorrow and take some decent pictures.

In other exciting news – I thought Brooklyn popped her first tooth yesterday. That would eplain the massive amounts of drool leaking from her mouth the last few days. And her constant quest to get four fingers in her mouth at once. However this morning, when I went to feel it again, it seems to have disappeared. Maybe her gums are a bit swollen? How does a very obvious sharp tooth disappear overnight? It’s kind of hard to believe that this is the beginning of the end of toothless grins. With Wyatt, I had so much more time to enjoy gummy smiles, as he didn’t get a tooth until he was 9 months old. I guess time will tell if I am imagining this first tooth deal!
