Plagiocephaly update
June 12, 2009 by Lisa Beth
Remember the curse of the flat head? Need a reminder, see this blog. Brooklyn has had her second recheck for her plagiocephaly and it looks good!
When we first had her evaluated for her flat head, she was in the severe category – helmet therapy recommended. We decided to try an extensive repositioning program to see if we could start to correct it naturally. At her follow up appointment it was better – she dropped to the “less-than-severe category” where they recommend the repositioning program (which we were already doing). Then at her last appointment this week she had dropped to the “normal” catergory – no treatment required. YEAH! So we will continue to try to keep her off that side of her head, we must be doing something right, huh?
The physical therapist did say that she may always have a bit of a flat spot on her right side, but nothing real noticable to the untrained eye. Good thing she’s a girl and her hair will more than likely cover it up anyways. I’ll just have to remind her of this when she is going through her rebellious phase at 16 years old and wants to shave her head.

Quite a difference, right?
