Last weekend we were in Fargo for Maddy and Conner’s fourth birthday party…

….and fun was had by all.  Wyatt LOVES playing with his cousins.  And since I’m an only child, Chris’s brother will always be our only shot for cousins.  I have so many awesome memories of playing with my cousins growing up, they were kind of like brothers and sisters to me as, alas, I am an only!  I never let Wyatt know if the cousins are coming to visit, or if we are planning to go see them, because then he hounds me for weeks.  I guess the concept of “later” is somewhat lost on a three year old.  But this trip, it’s like Wyatt was psychic.  A couple of days before we left, he started talking about Maddy and Conner insistently.  Did he hear us talking about the trip?  I can’t imagine, but maybe. Anyway, he was super stoked.

Another highlight of the weekend – Wyatt FINALLY got to go swimming in Grandma and Grandpa’s pool!  Now, this is the kid who screams when I wash his hair in the bath tub because he doesn’t like water in his eyes. (I know, I KNOW, he needs swimming lessons.  I just can’t see myself squeezing into a swimsuit at this point right now. At least not in front of strangers -scary. And he would not go without me, I have a feeling.)

DIDN'T ANYONE TELL THIS KID NOT TO RUN BY THE POOL?!

And I had to throw this picture in from the weekend – one of the few shots of me and Brooklyn.  Why is it that us moms take a bizzilion pictures of our kids, but fail to have any of us in them? Oh, that’s right, we’re BEHIND the camera, capturing every smile, giggle and fart that our kids have.
