The blog in which I show off my mad sewing skills….
August 3, 2009 by Lisa Beth
Truth be told, I am a total beginner sewer. But am kinda addicted to sewing “baby things”. Examples: blankets, bibs, hats and now my latest feat….dresses. A month or so ago I posted on my scrapbook blog about sewing my first baby dress. you can read about that here. I have now finished my second dress, and it’s even cuter than the first. Now, if you were to look closely, you’d see that some of the seams don’t line up, and some stitching that is supposed to be hidden is blatantly obvious. But I don’t really care, I really love putting them on Brooklyn. She looks so dang cute in her dresses her mama made!

The first dress

The second dress is a bit big for her, so she has yet to wear it. When I am cutting my patterns I am hesitant to sew anything even close to what I think she will fit in, for fear that when I finish it will be too small and that would tick me off, extremely. So too big is better than too small, she can always grow into them….

The Second Dress
In other news…. last night Wyatt decided to pour bath water down the vent in the bathroom. So much so, it caused the ceiling in the basement to saturate and eventually (after it dried today) crack. It was actually dripping on the couch downstairs. NICE.

I love the dresses. I dont know how to sew, I want to learn though. I would love to be able to make my daughter clothes.
That stinks about the bathroom vent, sounds like something my 3 year old would do..hes a little stinker about things

OMG! You are talented! I took sewing in high school and can make curtains and real simple things, but you went all out with a pattern and all! Adorable colors and she looks like such a cutie pie! Maybe you should begin a new business!

Love them. Can’t wait for Isabel to get the “Hand-me-downs”!
My sewing machine is collecting piles of dust under my scrapbooking table. Maybe I should dust the sucker off and get my butt in gear…but why when we already know you can make them beautifully
Can’t wait to see you in a week!!!!
