Thursday Time Out
August 28, 2009 by Lisa Beth
So, here’s the challenge. Spend at least one hour per week sans kids or thinking about kids. Not so hard for me, since I work pretty much full time…. But thanks to my hubby, who especially during the hunting season, doesn’t complain too much when I need to take an evening off, let’s me have “me time” more than the average girl. ( I think during hunting season, he figures that if he doesn’t say ANYTHING when I request to have an evening-or sometimes weekend-out, I won’t complain as loudly when he goes hunting so much) One of the other blogs I follow, ThetaMom.com came up with this idea to have a Time Out Thursday once a week. So, taking her very literally, I had my time out last night, Thursday night.

Not a real exciting time out, I went with a couple friends to a Vimpat education. Vim-what? It’s a new seizure medication the drug reps are out pushing. And they have now found my office. Sigh. But when they offer me a free dinner, drinks, and good company. I’ll listen to their scpeal for an hour. Anything is interesting while drinking wine, right? Actually, I have nothing against drug reps, a few of my friends are reps. Some of them are just. so. pushy. Not this one though, he was OK. I just hate when they track me down in the middle of my day. At my office. When my door is closed. And I’m trying to WORK. AnyWHOOO…. The dinner was delicious, and I conveniently made it home after the kids were sleeping. Yeah, me!
Possibly a more exciting “timeout” this week was my wonderful 3 day weekend of scrapbooking. This of course was cut a little short on Sunday due to the dreaded stomach flu (which I really hope is OVER!). It was two glorius days of scrapbooking, eating, watching movies and NOT showering, putting on makeup or caring one bit with three other fabulous women. I’m already making plans for the next kids-free weekend mid-September. I’ll post some of the pages I did over the weekend on my scrapbooking blog soon.

Yay girl! Alright, so it wasn’t the most interesting conversation (until you had some wine, of course)LOL–but, the bottom line is that you had some time away from the kids, enjoying some adult interaction and drinking some vino! Woo Hoo! And yes, that scrapbook session sounded awesome. Looking forward to seeing some finished pages from that!
BTW, thanks so much for participating in the time out. You are Theta awesome!
