What’s in a name?
June 16, 2009 by Lisa Beth
Brooklyn Anna Hustad has a very special meaning to her name. She was named after my dear friend’s daughter Anna Hazel who passed away in late November 2007, at 9 weeks of age. The minute I found out I was pregnant, I knew if I was blessed enough to have a baby girl, I wanted to somehow honor Anna Hazel.

Baby Anna
Anna was born with a very rare genetic disorder, which I can not even begin to pronounce (or spell) anymore. The doctors were unsure if she would even live past her delivery, but this strong little girl gave her parents 9 wonderful weeks to hold her, love her and get to know her. Anna will always hold a special place in my heart, as will her parents, Sadie and Jeff. I think of her often, and Chris and I were so thrilled when Sadie and Jeff let us name our very special baby after their little angel.

Because the Hustad’s tend to produce boys, the odds of this baby being a girl seemed slim-to-none. My entire pregnancy I told everyone I was sure I was having a boy, but deep down inside, I always knew. I don’t know how I knew, I just did. I’ve often thought that Anna was looking down on us from heaven and let God know that we needed a little girl to complete our family. Thanks Anna! I know in my heart Anna will always be Brooklyn’s guardian angel and can’t wait until she is old enough to tell her how special her name really is.

Another beautiful story………….you sure know how to bring tears to my eyes. It’s just uncanny – I had just been looking at photos of Baby Anna and you holding her at the hospital, not a minute before I checked to see if you had posted anything new.
